App of the Week: Run!

Since it's the first week I started doing the App of the Week, I decided to add another app to this week since I've been playing this app for a while, "Run!". This is a very simple designed app yet challenging gameplay. In the app you are a stick man and all you can do is jump, slide, punch, and shoot rockets. Through out the game you are automatically running and there are lots of obstacles in your way. Some you would have to jump over, slide under, punch away, and blast apart. And the longer you last in the game, it gets faster and more obstacles appear making it more challenging. There is online gameplay where you can challenge your friends and other people and also set high score records. I constantly play this game to reach all the achievement and beat my own record and my friends record. This is truly a fun game and will constantly make you play it. Give it a try buy downloading the free trial, then consider the full version.

Please leave a comment below on what you think about the app, "Run!" and your HIGHEST SCORE. Thank you!

App of the Week: PvZ

A few days ago, sitting at home bored, I was looking around the App Store looking to purchase a game. So I decided to download the Top Paid game, "Plants vs. Zombies". This game turned out to have a tower defense gameplay (kind of). You, the player, plant the plants that have special abilities to kill off different kinds of zombies. Seems pretty simple right? But this game isn't like any other defense game out in the App Store. It is quite unique for a defense game. PvZ has many, many plants, I have only unlocked around 20 so far, but there is well over 40 plants (towers) to chose from, and you unlock them as you play. Also you can collect money to buy stuff. And there is also a variety of zombies. There are also a few mini games in this game, after a few levels you will get a chance to play fun mini games where you can earn money and other stuff to help you along the game.

Overall this is a great game, will help you kill time whenever you're bored. Please leave a comment on what you thing about Plants vs Zombies. Thank you.

Alienware M11X?

Yes! The Alienware line from Dell is releasing the Alienware M11X. This small and ultra portable 11-inch laptop is incredibly powerful.  One of the many unique things about this laptop is that it has a SIM card slot, so it allows you to take your SIM card from your phone (providing you have data plan). This gives you wireless networking (tethering). The M11X has the same graphics power as the M15X. The graphics card combined with the high resolution screen makes gaming a wonderful experience. The laptop can run games such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare at high settings flawlessly along many other heavy graphics required base games.

This laptop has 2 graphics card, the 1GB NVIDIA GeForce GT 335M and the integrated BinaryGFX. This laptop can last you over 3 hours of gaming time (dependent on the game). And up to 8 hours when switched to its integrated graphics card and running light programs. This little machine comes with up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM (2GB with base model). This is an Alienware product so it comes with all the cool stuff that all the other Alienware laptops have.

This model is incredibly powerful. For something this small to have the specs that it has we all expect it to be $1000 plus. But the Alienware laptop base model is a $799 value. You know are all probably thinking it comes with a crappier graphics card on the base model, but the truth is, all the models get the 1GB NVIDIA GeForce GT 335M. The only customizations you can do on the model that affects performance is the by upgrading the CPU, memory and maybe a 7200RPM hard drive.

Now for the people who have been carving for this since day one, you can start pre-ordering it now. This is a very powerful and capable machine with a very nice price. For the gamers that want to play some decent games on a smaller laptop. This is probably the best way to go. Please leave a comment on what you think about the Alienware M11X. Thank you!

Another Apple tablet? Inklet?

(Considering you have a MacBook)

Few days ago I introduced you to the Modbook by Axiotron, a $1600 product. But for those artist out there and people who don't want to spend that much money for a tablet they can try out the trackpad tablet from Ten One Design, Inklet, for $24.95. It is identical to the Wacom Bamboo, $99. Check out this site, http://tenonedesign.com/inklet.php, for more info on the Inklet. This is probably the cheapest way for any person to get a tablet for their MacBook, and the most portable way. You can also buy a stylus specially made for the Inklet and MacBook combo at Ten One Design.

The Inklet software allows your MacBook trackpad to do is handwriting recognition, so you can scribble down notes and Inklet converts those scribbles into text. Scared that you can't let your palm rest on the trackpad while you draw? No need, the Inklet can detect if your palm is resting on the trackpad or not, and ignore it so it solely focuses on the point you draw with. It works with many popular programs such as Sketchbook Pro, Photoshop CS4, Illustrator CS4, and many other programs.

Install it and use it right away, it doesn't need any hardware. It just uses your MacBook's trackpad, and it goes where ever your MacBook goes. If you want a tablet for your MacBook and you have $25 then then why not get the Inket? Please leave a comment on what you think about the Inklet and do the poll at the side. Thank you!

WIND Mobile (Canada)

For some time now we've been hearing about a phone company that is going to come into Canada and wipe out Rogers, Bell and other phone companies. And this company has finally arrived, WIND Mobile. First thought that came into most peoples head was that how can this foreign mobile company come into Canada and try to take over Rogers or Bell. But after a while it seems like its possible. The rates that they give you and the freedom that you have while with this company is great.

Why WIND you ask?
Check out this link and see why for yourself http://shop.windmobile.ca/ProductCatalog/WhyWIND/

What's so great about their plans?
Well first of all. There's NO CONTRACT! Second, there's NO SYSTEM ACCESS FEE! Thrid... just click the link I gave you for more information.
For the BlackBerry users out there. You're probably paying around 40-60 dollars a month for your data plans just so you can go on MSN or Facebook. To do the same thing on the wind is just a giving out a little $25.
If you live in Toronto or Calgary (Home Zone) you guys are in luck. WIND to WIND calling is absolutely free! And they are slowly expanding their Home Zone.

WIND is growing fast and taking away customers away from Rogers and Bell. Those two companies should be happy WIND isn't providing cable, satellite, or home internet, or they will really need to smarten up. Well as for now, if they don't change something about their high rates, I believe that most of their mobile companies will switch the WIND.
